See you at the exhibition "Agroprodmash 2021"

From 4 to 8 October 2021, the „Agroprodmash“ exhibition will take place in the Central Exhibition Center „Expocentr“, where our company will present its products at the exhibition stand of the „Profiteks“ machine-building plant.

„MILK“ Packaging factory“ is taking at the exhibition for many years, and presents something special every time. What will be the main topic in 2021, Sergey Kochetov, commercial director of the „Present upakovka“ LLC will tell.

– What kind of package did you decide to emphasize this time?

– In this year we decided to draw the attention of customers to the PET sealing lid. Such a lid becomes more popular among our customers day by day. The reason is clear: the trend of personal responsibility for ecology is widening worldwide, and such kinds of sealing lids are suitable for recycling.

– Does it appear that PET sealing lids are biodegradable?

– First of all, we have to understand the difference between „biodegradable“ and „recyclable“ plastic.

The plastic becomes „biodegradable“ thanks to the presence of additives in the composition. As a result, the plastic is not degrading; it is just degrading into smaller pieces; i.e. it becomes microplastic. Micro pieces of plastic get into the air, soil, and water; they can penetrate the organism of people and animals. Such microplastic will be degrading for hundreds of years.

In the industry, no biodegradable plastic exists; that’s why the point is just recyclable plastics.

The largest world enterprises of the food industry implement the ecological package actively: Danone, PepsiCo, and Nestle are planning to make 100% of the package recyclable already by 2025.

Nor now, our company is the only manufacturer of an ET-sealing lid in Russia, it is a recyclable lid for yogurts. As distinct from the aluminum lid, there is no need to sort it additionally – PET and glass are recycled into one container.

– Are there many customers that have already switched to such kind of sealing lid?

– Several large manufacturers work with PET, and not only in Russia; btw, the production is picking up.

For example, a customer from Uganda is taking part in the project, and as the main result of this project, this company must fully switch over to the recyclable package. The customer has chosen PET-sealing lids manufactured in Tula because it is a high-quality, modern package that saves the environment.

– How do the quality and the cost of the package change when switching over to PET?

– The pattern printed on PET loos more bright because of its white base. Besides, we use paints for the ultraviolet hardening that provide a high-quality image. An argument in favor of PET will also become the strength of the package – it is extremely difficult to break or perforate this lid. At that, the price will remain as likely as if you would use smooth sealing lids without embossing. Because of the increase in aluminum cost, the availability of PET lids has come useful as never before. You can save up to 25%, depending on the order volume!

– Is it possible to print Data Matrix onto the PET codes?

– Of course, our equipment makes it possible to print the transient information on foil, films, and combined materials. The point is not Data Matrix only; QR-codes, text, graphical representation, barcodes – we print any information necessary for carrying out promotion actions; among them on the reverse side of the sealing lid. Looking ahead, I will tell you that it does not have any effect on the soldering, and the penetration of the composition into the product is excluded. On-demand, we will provide samples for testing.
